"Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up." -- Rush Limbaugh. October 5, 1995 show transcript. http://www.takebackthemedia.com/gophotwrush.html

"What this says to me is that too many whites are getting away with drug use, too many whites are getting away with drug sales, too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we're not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too." -- Rush Limbaugh. October 5, 1995 show transcript. http://www.takebackthemedia.com/gophotwrush.html

One of Limbaugh's favorite targets in his mindless rants is the American Civil Liberties Union. Ironically, the ACLU went to bat for the guy:

When are the right wing wind bags going to finally recognize the importance of protecting everyone's civil liberties? More importantly, when are they going to recognize their own hypocrisy? Hardly vocalized at all now that Rush has plea bargained his way out of jail.

I know that the Brontë sisters wrote some great books like Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights. And those good books have been turned into musicals. Yes, musicals. I am a bit uncertain of how Heights would play, and I am not all that into musicals, since the male lead is named Heathcliffe and he is one vengeful SOB who digs up the dead body of the woman he loves just to hug her. I don't know how that would play on the Broadway stage, or the off-Broadway stage for that matter, but who knows? Oh! Calcutta! had nudity in it. And Mrs. Henderson presented nude women in her musical revues during World War 2.

Jane Eyre I could see as a musical since Jane is one of the finest human beings in all of literature, ranking right up there with Atticus Finch of Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird as being a person to strive to be like.

So I suppose the Brontë girls might have a fun time seeing their works set to music. But Frankenstein? Mary Shelley's Frankenstein? How do they do a choreography with a character has a hard time walking and talking let alone dancing and singing?

I'll stick with my favorite musicals, Paint Your Wagon and Chicago. I like film version of Paint Your Wagon since it involved Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood singing. I think they finally came up with two guys who sing worse than I do. I like Chicago for a different reason, the women, scantily clad, lots of legs and lots of women in little clothing. I think a lot of men did not mind getting dragged to the theater by their wives and girlfriends to see that.

More my speed, I think, would be something that I enjoy as much as if not more than bad singings and beautiful women in nylons and high heels. And that's golf. I ran across a musical about it. Haven't seen it, and if it ever comes my way, I will. It's http://www.golfthemusical.com/index.htm

The drugs kids use today are stronger than the ones their parents used. Well, not all the drugs. The major addiction of teenagers is still booze, followed by marijuana. The booze is still the same. 50 proof rum is still 50 proof. Beer is still the same percentage as it always has been. Marijuana, however, is stronger, probably anywhere from five to ten times stronger. It ain't your father's dope anymore.

Among the other leading drugs of choice for kids is prescription drugs, mainly oxycontin.

So, it reality, the kids we see today are stoned on things that are perfectly legal.

Which probably explains why Rush got off scot free.

I'm thinking I really should change this page.  The Recent entries haven't really been all that, well, recent.  And I've noticed quite anumber of people have been searching for stuff about cybertown related topics.  At least that's what I get from the referral page information for this site.  Weird.  I haven't been writing much about anything let alone that fake world, so I have no idea what they are looking for.  Anybody else?
