January early in the month, no date since I really don't remember

I don't know what President is so upset about. The fact that the New York Times revealed the NSA secret spying program or the fact that he was doing something that is not supposed to be doing, namely spying on American citizens, violating their Constitutional rights.

It seems that neocons always resort to blaming others for their faults or claiming that anybody who criticizes what the government is doing is unpatriotic or traitorous? Who are neocons? Simply they are anybody who has taken the principles of conservatism and twisted them into something unrecognizable and shameful. They don't care a whit about civil liberties, religious freedoms, or the economic advancement of the poor.

They think that it is perfectly all right for American citizens to be locked up without a trial and without legal representation. They think that it is perfectly all right for the government to listen in on and tape the privileged conversations of prisoners and their clients. They think that people can advanced in the world if they just work two or three jobs at minimum wage rather than attempt to create jobs that pay above the poverty level.

Neocons bemoan the loss of morals yet see nothing wrong with business men destroying companies and ruining the lives of decnet honest hard working people. Does any seriously think that those responsible for Enron or World Com will pay anything of the billions people lost and depended on for their retirements?

Neocons want to see unions dissolved and pension plans done away with. They say that taxpayers shouldn't have to foot the bill for pension plans and health plans, but do nothing to ensure affordable health care for millions of Americans. That same, supposed caring for the taxpayer, spills over into the private sector where businesses are going to court to not pay their pension obligations to workers. It's not a concern for taxpayers, nor is it anything but a desire to rake in more profits to be shared among the top executives, not the workers and not the small investors.

Neocons claim to have high moral, based on the Bible, yet forget so many or twist so many of its teachings. Thye bemoan the downfall of the American family, yet do nothing to promote family life. If they did, they wouldn't be forcing so many mothers to have to work to help pay the family bills. If they did, they would promote day care centers in the work place, and higher salaries for men so that mothers could stay home where they are better at nurturing children than men will ever be.

And before anybody gets their undies in a bunch, I think women should be able to work, and get the same pay for the same job, and can do almost anything a man can do as well or better. But neocons want them to stay home all the time.

January 21

Yesterday was my old man's birthday. He would have been 94. He lived to 84. My mom is still around at 90. I got longevity genes in me I guess. Nothing wrong with that.

I wish there were longevity genes for everyone.
